I’m not all too enthusiastic about this month of September. Honestly, I am thinking twice if I have to write one, however, I already aired out the circumstances that happened this September. It was all written in my previous blog. Anyways, I am still going to do this monthly favorites because I know that this is worth sharing and I will do my best to still make this blog interesting. I hope you’ll understand the tone.
- Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 1 and 2
TBH, I am not keen with all the Marvel stories but I am getting the hang of it. It was only in September when I finally gave in to my boyfriend’s convincing power that I should watch Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter). Well, my first impression in the first episode is that it felt like too political and kinda boring. I forced myself to watch from one episode to another until I find myself sleeping at two or three in the morning because of binge-watching Luke Cage. Okay, this isn’t a typical superhero series like Superman and all that, but what piqued my interest is how real the storyline is and that it really happens in some areas of the world that we probably didn’t know. I also like the angst. I learned about the rage that has to be controlled and that “Money is the source of all evil.” This is so true. Anyways, guys, watch this next if you watched Marvel’s Defenders too on Netflix.
- Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2
I blogged about this series before, I believe that was last year when (Danny Rand played by Finn Jones) Iron Fist Season 2 started streaming. This was just launched this September and I finished the whole season for about a week only, ten episodes! I love the twist here, you guys! Yes, spoiler alert: His girlfriend Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) is apparently a descendant of the first woman who had an Iron Fist! Okay, Marvel geeks, correct me if I’m wrong with my understanding. Hehe. Man, what got me hooked again is Ward Meachum’s sarcasm! He is so hilarious! Of course, I couldn’t forget about the fight scenes here, Iron Fist really does the best choreo next to Marvel’s Daredevil. I like the girl power here, go Misty (Played by Simone Missick) and Colleen! You ladies are slaying during fight scenes (I wish to meet them haha)!
Probably not a favorite thing that I found out I’m nearsighted but I am grateful to have prescription eyeglasses, finally! Why? Because it is a protection for my eyes whenever I’m exposed to radiation; well you know, I am always on my phone and laptop. I’m glad that I can clearly read signs or what-not from a distance. Actually, even when you think you don’t need glasses, you should have a checkup, you’ll never know! And it helps to have an extra lens to protect you from harmful UV rays or radiation.
I got my specs at Salinas Optical. It is along Mabini St., just near the sidewalk beside Jollibee which was Mcdonald’s before. Lol, hope you get it! haha
- Shampoo Bars
I am obsessed with shampoo bars! Admit it, we are not all fully into being eco-friendly but it doesn’t hurt doing it one step at a time! I like the shampoo bars because 1. It leaves no residue in my scalp that causes dandruff and itchiness, 2. It lathers easily with water, easy to wash and rinse too. 3. NO PLASTIC to be thrown away! Kudos to these sellers who make sure to pack their product in an eco-friendly way! I’m never going back to commercialized shampoo/conditioner, TBH, hihi. I got my bars from @heycharchar (check her IG) and @beingecoph!
Well, that’s it for my September favorites! I hope some of the things I enumerated piqued your interest! I’ll try to find more favorites this October for me to share you guys.
P.S. I am still grieving when my Tita passed away. I’ve been hella depressed and anxious the past few days, I am trying to cope up. How do you guys manage anxiety or grief? TIA!
