Indulgence. Self-love. Relaxation. These are the sweet words that I desire to feel each day but it is, of course, unrealistic to always feel serenity in this fast-paced world. One day I was able to take some time off with my mom to get an indulgent and soothing therapy at a spa in Baguio City.
Yes, I found serenity in one of the busy streets in the City of Pines. Spa de Soleil Baguio is located at #123 Abanao Ext., Rizal Monument, Baguio City. It’s a few steps away from Baguio City Hall, it is actually inside the premises of a hotel.
It was a very chilly and rainy day in the city when I’ve decided to go along with my mom at the spa. The spa is an oasis of tranquility once I stepped inside. We were greeted enthusiastically at the receiving area. They were helpful to what kind of massage we need to try. I chose Aromatherapy Massage. It claims to stir your senses with pure essential oil and scents. The Spa added, “The rhythmic massage combines with techniques of Swedish, Shiatsu and Thai Massage for a heightened sense of well-being.” My mom chose the Balinese massage which targets to soothe back pain. All their massages include 15-20 minutes sauna and shower.
I was lead to the room where I was provided with a robe and slippers to wear. The room is warm and dim, just minimal lighting from the lamp. It was my first time to enjoy the hot sauna. I was provided with cold water, face towel and towel. Being there, I was able to taste serenity in the busy streets of Baguio. The spa was as if secluded in the city but it is in the heart of the city. After my fifteen minutes of the sauna, I perspired a bit and just wiped myself dry more. I didn’t go to the shower anymore since I didn’t perspire a lot and I don’t want to get sick with the hot temperature from the sauna to the (might be) cold shower. I went straight to my assigned room, flopped lying on the bed and waited for my therapist. It didn’t take long for her to come. Her name is Maricel, she started my massage. She didn’t ask if soft or hard but I didn’t but, she was gentle enough. The massage took an hour and a half. At the end of the relaxing massage, I was provided with a warm towel for me to wipe off the oil all over my body, and my favorite gesture was they served me a warm lemon grass tea!
The service of Spa de Soleil Baguio is excellent. This blog isn’t sponsored, I’m just taking time to write about my experience and to share my recommendation. The owner turns out to be there at the spa which we were also asked how our massage was. We gladly responded to her that we were happy and we’ll be back. I’m delighted that I found serenity in the busy streets of Baguio. The spa is a humble abode, decked with creative paintings on the wall of the receiving area, soft sofas, and the scent is so relaxing. The experience was a play of all five senses. Having a massage is a way to love yourself like a tap on the back after a hard day’s work. Relaxation will always be one of the best indulgences for me, next to nibbling chocolates!
Prior to walking in at the spa, I messaged them through their Facebook page. They were kind enough to send me initial rates. Please see below:
