It was one gloomy Monday and I was still feeling under the weather but I still decided to go out to celebrate my birthday-again at one of the most sought-after places in the city, Baguio Craft Brewery.
It wasn’t my first time to dine here. This is located along Marcos Highway. I went here last year just for one drink then I and my companions left early. So this time, I was able to devour the food and drinks properly-yes, properly, since I’m not in a rush. I was with my boyfriend Joel and his older sister, Lala. It was such a great timing because there was a live band playing that night! Anyways, to give you a break down on why you have to visit Baguio Craft Brewery, here are the reasons why:
1. “Baguio Feels” Ambiance
I love the setting this time. They enclosed the restaurant, before it can be really windy. I like the interior, it’s so rustic, not that I belong to the hype of “rustic”, I just like the effect of warm lights subtly peeking through the hanging vines when seen from afar like in the photo below. The place is well-lit enough. I don’t like dim resto-bars. I’d like to clearly see what I’m eating, drinking and people I talk to.
2. Well-crafted beers and refreshments
I’m a bit skeptic about their “craft” beers, someone told me their beer base is still from San Miguel Beer. But anyway, whatever they did on the flavored beers, it was really good. It tastes good! We’ve tried the best-seller, “Lagud” or the Strawberry-flavored beer. We also tried the Kiwi and some mocktails. The mocktails are my fave! It really complements the food that we ordered.
3. Surprisingly savory food!
I was so excited to try out the food of Baguio Craft Brewery and it didn’t disappoint me. A lot of people have been raving about their food so I’m really glad I tasted it already. So we ordered Balut-ala-Pobre, the Shrimp Kebab, Beef Nachos and the Isaw. It was so delicious and the serving was just right. If you only order the nachos, it’s already fulfilling. We ordered a lot of pica-pica that’s why we didn’t get to try the ribs, maybe next time!
4. Exceptional Eargasm!
Baguio wouldn’t be Baguio if there’ll be no good music on a foggy rainy night. It was such a great timing that there’s a live band playing at the Baguio Craft Brewery! The band’s name is “Monday Blues”. The music is so on point, most adults could relate to their music. It’s a bit of classic rock and alternative, also jazz. Ahh, I could listen to this music for hours! Of course, they also played renditions of Pinoy-rock, nope, not the new breed, but the classics, man!-Eraserheads, of course! So fun to sing along!
Well, that’s my short review about Baguio Craft Brewery. Hope you enjoyed these teasers before you visit the place. As you can see, we’re all smiles:
Special thank you to Ate Lala who took these photos! My camera wasn’t camera-ready teehee!
