A Newbie Cafe!
A newbie but goodie café is in town-Noob Café! This newly-established café in Trancoville, Baguio City offers child-friendly facilities, a place to dine, study and work at the same time, and a spot for dads alike. Noob Café is the newest hangout for all ages!
Noob Café is a collaboration of friends who are new in putting up a business that is something different from what they do. Each has their own expertise of field and the new café became their “creative playground.” Needless to say, that’s how they came up with the name-Noob. It’s a café made by “newbies” and not only that, but their café is also sharing something new to the foodie market of Baguio City.
Where is Noob Café?
Your newest hangout in Baguio is located at 65 A. Tabora Brgy., Baguio City. It is near Don Bosco and the café is in front of Cecilia Building. There’s parking space inside the open gate and there you’ll see the café on the second floor of the building. Noob Café wants to welcome guests with a warm, homey and welcoming ambiance.
What’s Good about Noob Café’s Food?
A hands-on chef is one of the keys to a successful food business. Thankfully, Noob Café has Chef Wilson, a self-taught and experienced chef- yup, he didn’t professionally learn how to cook. All he did was to cook with passion, grateful heart and happiness, these values truly reflected on the dishes I’ve tried at the café.
What Else Can Noob Café Offer?
Open from 8:00am to 12mn, the café offers not only a café that serves good food but also a co-working space and wifi-ready for digital nomads or if you just want to get things done! Are you fond of board games? Noob Café is equipped with the classic board games and soon, they would be upgrading more exciting board games to play! Noob Café also has a section for kids! There’s a space for kiddos to play while their mommies are chilling and devouring their coffee (wink wink!). Well, I won’t stop there! Soon, in the basement of the café would be a bar, perfect for dads too! Now, whiskey on the rocks? Yes, please!
Noob Café’s Menu
First of all, thank you to the owners of Noob Café for trusting my dear cousin, Renzo, a nursing student from the University of Cordilleras, to design the café’s menu board! I am truly a proud big sister! J Now onto the food! Noob Café offers enough range of choices for mains, snacks, refreshments, and coffees. I’ll share with you my honest thoughts to some of their offerings I’ve tasted.
Noob Café’s Food Presentation
I’ve been to so many cafés already and I have never seen food served in an uncommon platter or serving dish until Noob Café. The plates are like a tear-drop shape and the plates of pasta are served with a deep rectangular bowl. Both in white and ceramic-like serving platters, good enough to showcase the sumptuous newbie dishes!
Here are the main dishes I have tried when I visited the café together with my fellow Baguio Bloggers. Their dishes are truly worth it good for groups of 3 or more!
A specialty of Noob Café which is one of their pasta dishes served in a deep rectangular ceramic bowl. It is a bit spicy that is good for my preference. Of course, the shrimps are a plus for me! It’s a delicious dish which can be devoured by 2 persons. Can eat it alone? Go ahead, no judgments!
This one delighted my taste buds because it has “Tinapa” flakes in it! Something new that I’ve ever tried. It is not a typical Filipino pasta with “Tuyo”/ “Daing” or Sardines, really something new for me!
Cajun Chicken Rice
The chicken has a hint of spice but that’s okay, I like having a little bit of spice on dishes so that I won’t get easily feel weary about the taste. The rice serving is big and it’s no ordinary white rice, the chef mixed it up with flavors. Tasty!
We were able to taste two appetizers from the menu and they are interesting as their pastas!
This famous appetizer is drizzled with cheese and mayo and layered with ground beef, tomatoes, and bits of chili peppers. It’s a perfect starter before the main dishes!
Chicken & Orange Salad
What’s not to love about salads especially in Baguio City, right? I always crave for fresh vegetables, really, and knowing that this salad is mixed with Chicken and Orange? Yum! However, to be honest, I am not really fond of sweet and sour flavors but this one is just mild, and I liked it!
The Dessert: Golden Oreo Ala Mode
The fried Oreos is quite interesting. It is served when the Oreo just got out of the heat and it is topped with vanilla ice cream! We didn’t take many photos, we ate it all up before the ice cream completely melted. I like the effort put into the dessert, and the presentation is simple but tasteful.
The Refreshments and Coffee
(Sorry I had photo of this, lost the file but to give you an idea, the drink is plain white!)
For those of you who are not into coffee or just had enough caffeine already, the Vanilla Latte is the best pick. Nope, if you’re thinking that you’re just going to taste typical sweet hot milk, totally not! I couldn’t figure out what’s more in it, nonetheless, the owners told us that it’s a vanilla latte “with a kick.” That’s good enough for me!
One of the go-to’s of every not-so-coffee lover, maybe? Sweetness is just right with enough caffeine. I like mild coffees like these.
Black Forest Frappe
A tasty drink with whipped cream and drizzled chocolate sauce on top! Perfect to pair with Chicken & Orange Salad!
Berry Long Refresher
A fusion of Strawberry and Longan fruits. This is my favorite so far! The drink is obviously color pink and when you taste it, it’s a play of flavors of Strawberry and Longan. I love the innovative fruity fusion on this refreshment!
(Sorry, no photo of this too, but it’s a lighter pink than the Berry Longan Refresher)
This refreshment is also served in a sleek glass and I love the dominant citrus flavor of the lemonade. Not too sweet too, this is perfect to be eaten with the Pinoy Pasta!
Well, we live near La Trinidad where strawberries came from, so as expected, we get a glass of fresh Strawberry Smoothie! Who isn’t a strawberry fan here, right? Hehe
