My best Baguio retreat at Tudor in the Pines was not just a simple “staycation,” but it is more than just a retreat. This blog shares how important it is to do a retreat. This isn’t just about the ‘gram. The lodge offers an experience of finding bliss harmoniously with the juxtaposition of nature and its exquisite architecture.
Why Do You Need a Retreat?
I think every person needs a retreat. Okay, this gets a bit personal. Sometimes even at home, you can’t get enough sleep or you can’t just sleep right away! Aside from tinkering your phone, you could hear too much noise and air pollution inside and outside the household that leads to unpleasant sleep, or worse, sleep deprivation. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation leads to mood swings throughout the day and even, yes, anxiety and depression, and that is why you need a retreat!
Where to go for a Retreat?
This is an obvious suggestion, Tudor in the Pines Lodges! Tell me, where’s the most unique place you’ve spent a night at Baguio City? (I’m tapping my foot three times LOL). If you want a refreshing experience of a staycation in Baguio City, Tudor in the Pines is located on the outskirts of Baguio City, at 17 Lower Balacbac Road, Sto. Tomas, Baguio City, Benguet. Going there is about 20 to 30 minutes’ drive from the city’s central business district. It’s essentially away from the busy streets to make your stay more serene, unique and comfortable!
The Lodges
The estate has five unique residences within a gated and guarded property that can accommodate up to 30 guests.
Royal Cottage
Feel regal during your stay at the Royal Cottage as it is the only unit with a bathtub! (I wasn’t able to dive in, but check out more of the photos of Tudor on their page! )
Max of Guests: 6
2 Bedrooms, 4 Beds
Twin Glass Treehouse
Have you ever dreamt of having a treehouse during your childhood days and never had one? Well, Tudor in the Pines will make you experience that nostalgia and the thrill of living in a treehouse but with a modern twist.
Max of Guests: 4
2 Bedrooms, 2 Beds
2 Bathrooms and 2 Comfort Rooms
Garden Terrace
This residence gives you a view of the exquisite Twin Glass Treehouse with an airy terrace entrance that leads you to your “home.”
Max of Guests: 4
2 Bedrooms, 2 Beds
2 Bathrooms and 2 Comfort Rooms
Forest Terrace
From the gate of the estate, there’s a stairway down that leads you to an intimate space of the Forest Terrace. This is where my friends and I checked in. I love how more secluded this unit is as it is in the basement of the main house.
Max of Guests: 6
3 Bedrooms, 3 Beds
1 Bathrooms and 2 Comfort Rooms (Toilets)
Tudor House
This is the grandest residence that the Tudor in the Pines Lodges has to offer because it can accommodate the most number of guests. We love the rooftop as it shows a fresh view of the pinewood forest in Baguio City. It also has the cutest attic, perfect for kids!
Max of Guests: 10
4 Bedrooms, 8 Beds
2 Bathrooms
Why Choose Tudor in the Pines?
If you’re a tourist and it’s probably your first time in Baguio City if you don’t mind the modern-pampering of a hotel, why not try Tudor in the Pines? It is not as modern as the hotels with breakfast in bed service but a lodge offers you a unique experience to be in one with nature but with comfort. I think it’s a luxury stay but without taking away the laid back and easy going vibe of Baguio City.
Now, if you’re a local in the city, this is probably a good idea for a staycation when you just need to get away fast from your busy household and hectic work. Like me, I find that Tudor in the Pines is the perfect (literally) quick getaway!
My Overall Experience of Retreat at Tudor in the Pines
I honestly realized that I sort of suffering from sleep deprivation when I had a good night’s sleep at Tudor in the Pines. I think it was the best sleep I’ve ever had in my life (except when I was a baby, okay?). The place is just serene and relaxing, no fuss, no smoke, no unnecessary noises. I was able to retreat with a good book resting on my palms, curled my legs on a comfortable couch and then dozed off!
The best part at Tudor in the Pines is that they have a place for a bonfire! My friends and I are gathered in a circle. One manning the grill cooking hotdogs, and one playing the guitar, one pouring the next shot of tequila (Ehem! haha) and the rest of us are just telling stories. Aaahhh, isn’t that total “Baguio feels”? A soulful gathering and camaraderie of different individuals under the stars and the dark blue sky!
If I were you, my friends, pay attention to yourself too. Get some enough zzz’s, bond with your family and friends, or just be yourself, spend a night alone (like I would next time!) Yes, most likely I’ll come back because really, it’s a beautiful retreat there.

I have seen an episode of KMJS featuring Tudor in the Pines Lodges. Hope this pandemic ends so i can visit it! Will be using the airbnb coupon, thanks!
You are very much welcome! 🙂

For vacation din po! 🙂 I just like to emphasize on going on a vacation like a total insightful retreat. 🙂
OMG! I’ve been eyeing this place for soooo long. Sabi ko pa sa sarili ko na talagang isa to sa mga dahilan kaya ko gustong bumalik ng Baguio 😀 Nakita ko rin to sa KMJS before. Nakabook na ‘to sakin sa Airbnb eh and supposedly this year nandito nako haaay but then pandemic happened. Super nice place for self-retreat!
Wow! I’d definitely get a good rest and sleep when i’m in such a peaceful place like that! Sana maka visit ako sa Baguio ulit soon! I’d like to stay dun sa tree top! Hahaha! And it’s nice that they can accommodate big groups!
OMG ang ganda! Pero in the outskirts pa pala. We’ll consider it. Albergo is our go-to hotel there. It’s accessible for commuters kasi.
Hmm when we stayed there, some of us commuted lang. May jeep and cab, 🙂
It seems so relaxing and peaceful here. I would definitely finish a good book right away with that kind of view! I guess retreats as well as going to isolated destinations will be a trend after the pandemic. Everyone is just stressed out these days. Thanks for this review! Another one added in my bucket list 🙂
Yey! On your list . Glad I helped!
Super cute tlga ng tree house! If only safe na mag-travel far huhu. Hopefully, soon! Coffee na rin tayo siz pag bumalik kami Baguio hehe p.s. coffee lang, wla akong iooffer hahaha
I’d love to meet you siz! heheh Yes coffee would be nice! 🙂
I love the idea of a staycation during this nuisance of a pandemic. I’m so sick of my house and staying in a room that modern and gorgeous would be a dream come through. I wouldn’t mine spending some quarantine time there for sure. Haha
yeh best place for recharge!
Hope we can already travel. I will definitely try to go here. I want to experience the glass tree house that is one of my dream. And the place is so relaxing. Hope next year we can spend my birthday celebration in Baguio.
Sana okay na next year!
I saw my friend post this and I was planning to book a night here at their glass tree house but the pandemic happened. I usually solo travel or travel with my other half to Baguio around June or July.
Can they only be booked via airbnb? Not a fan of the platform kasi.
Feel free to message them! They are active in answering queries. They can consider for sure!
Super cozy nang feeling dito and instagrammable pa. Also, perfect place for a rainy season as well. Now, I have an idea na where to cave in Baguio.
Perfect for barkada getaway specially the Tudor House – I love the minimalist/semi rustic design and it gives this “homey” vibes. I also appreciate that the kitchen is spacious as I am always the volunteer cook and I like to be able to move around. Can’t wait to travel again and would definitely consider Tudor in the Pines.
I am so in loved with their kitchen too!
Ang ganda ng lugar. And I just realized that this place in Baguio reminds me of our trip in NSW. Napapaligiran rin ng mga puno yung accommodation namin, and lots of pines and gumtrees.
Ang relaxing ng trees talaga!
I always plan to have my own house in Baguio and have a minimalist house. If I have the money, I would build glass house too.
“Why Do You Need a Retreat?”
To find serenity. And the only retreat I consider effective is the retreat I direct within. To find peace within, to reconsider the beliefes, the hopes, and the dreams I have.
I do not find retreat outside of myself. That is the most ineffective way to address and solve the issues that are in the first place internal.
If you’ve read my article, I live with my parents and amongst noisy nosey neighbors. Haha . I basically don’t have the means to build my own house and live alone. That is a good idea, to build your own glass house too. Tudor is just a blessing to be partnered with to have us a quick getaway. In my case that helped me mentally also, that kind of “retreat” I experienced there. 🙂
The kitchen of Tudor House is how I imagine my kitchen would be like when I finally move to Canada. Its spacious yet cozy. This makes me want to go back to Baguio with my family so we can also experience living in this place if only for a few days.
True Ms. Kathy! The Tudor House is a good inspiration for future homes! 🙂 Yes, when you visit the city, we should meet, too!
