10 Things to Do at Home During Community Quarantine

Hey you! I want to start this blog on a high note! We all know that things got a little or too crazy for the past weeks. We’re battling a global pandemic but let’s all try to find any light and direction while we’re still experiencing this dark time. To begin with, let me share with you 10 things to do at home during community quarantine! Here are some of what I’m doing now and planning to do. Keep your to-do list full and productive!

1. Clean and organize

If you’ve been busy your whole life to clean up your room, now is the time. When was the last time you changed your bedsheets? The last time you wiped your mirror? Have you cleaned your phone recently? All these tiny clean up steps would make a big difference. If you can’t organize your life right now because of the global pandemic’s distraction, start by organizing your things! 

2. Exercise

I have been exercising lately even before the quarantine as I am always angry. Kidding aside! Just get up from bed, find a place at home where you could do some exercise. I just started liking yoga and I don’t even have a mat to use so, errr, I use an old towel. Let’s find ways to keep moving. Exercise to keep your immune system strong.  Try this page, I Go Beyond Yoga. They have Facebook live classes, I tried out yoga for the first time through that page!

3. Maximize your Skincare Routine

We have been piling up on makeup before the quarantine! Now’s the time to make our skin breathe. Maximize your skincare routine by also using products from the kitchen! There are many DIY tutorials on Pinterest! As for me, I’ll finally be using the products that have been sitting around my vanity area for a while. Put your mask on!

4. Read a book

This is my favorite hobby and gladly I have more time to read more books! Not a bookworm? Try to start reading articles online, discover what genre you would be interested in. No books lying around? Check this out: This book app offers a free subscription for a month!  

5. Learn a new skill

I am excited to do this and you should too! If you’re blessed to have an internet connection, there are many online courses for you to choose from. Check out Skillshare or “Youtube University”! Hehe. Bring out your mom’s cookbooks or in my case, I’m dusting off my grand father’s art books.  

6. Bullet Journaling

I’ve been into bullet journaling since 2017 and I shared this on a blog before. Let me share with you here: Why I started Bullet Journalling 

I’m already thinking of my next for this coming month of April. The thing about bullet journaling is that as long as you have a blank journal, you don’t have to worry about the dates, unlike the other fixed planners. So, you can start now. Bullet journaling also increases productivity. 

7. Connect with family & friends

Reconnect with the most important people in your life. If you’re living with your parents, cherish it every moment. Can’t meet your friends in person? Video chat! Thank you social media! 

8. Keep on Working

If you’re given an opportunity to work from home, get into it. Yes, you may rest but learn how to schedule your tasks throughout the day. Keep moving, we’ll never know when this pandemic ends, so let’s just be ready. 

9. Reflection

Church activities are suspended as of the moment but that shouldn’t be the reason for us to hold back our prayers. Our faith today is being tested during this rough time. Now, I don’t want to be preachy here but do whatever you’re comfortable with when it comes to reflections and faith. 

10. Help the health workers

We’re not health workers, so how can we help? Follow your community pages, non-government or government organizations who update us with how we can help the ‘frontliners’.  Perhaps, donate some materials to make masks. If you have extra, share through monetary or by kinds like food and alcohol. Just by sharing how everyone could help is also relevant and important. Our help can be just a click away.

    This pandemic has given me more time for self reflection, assessment, reliance, and development. I can’t agree more with cleaning and organizing! It does wonders mentally and emotionally. Plus our health.

  6. thank you for sharing this list. there are actually a lot of things we can do really. as for me, i am more focused into blogging and learning new software. but, what’s more important is to feed our souls this time. 🙂 Let’s also dont forget the One who should be glorified and thanked at during this difficult times, because even though it’s dark, we are still here, fighting and alive! <3
